Colloquium: Religious
traditions and
social responsibility

Goals :
Acquiring a better understanding of the
perspectives and
specific contributions of different religious traditions to
social action.
The collquium will also explore the issue of
cultural/religious diversity and social responsability by engaging
in interreligious dialogue.
Questions focused in the colloquium:
-
What does each
tradition propose in terms of our social responsibility?
-
Is interreligious dialogue in itself considered to be a part of social
responsibility
from the point of view of your tradition ?
-
Can social
responsibility be taken with an interreligious approach ?
Spiritual
leaders from 6 religious traditions (Muslim,
Sikh, Jewish, Hindu, Bouddhist, Christian)
will share their perpectives on these questions in order to
stimulate a discussion among all participants.
Target group:

Members of
different religious traditions;
-
Quebecois and ethnocultural community organizations;
- Anyone interested in
this reflection process.
