Intercultural training
For Afro-Caribbean
and South Asian communities
CARING FOR OUR ELDERLY
Wednesday, April 5, 2006, 9.30 AM to 4PM
This
training session is offered within the framework of an on-going
research-action project which is being carried out at the Intercultural
Institute of Montreal with the financial support from Canadian Heritage
– Multicultural Programs.
- Are you involved with the elderly in your community ?
- Are you concerned about their wellbeing ?
- Would you like to acquire more understanding of the living conditions
of the elderly in the context of immigration. ?
- Are you interested in raising awareness of your community about
the situation of the elderly ?
- How can you support the family to care for their elderly ?
- Would you like to be a bridge between the elderly of your community
and the public services ?
- Would you like to develop intercultural skills to work with
he elderly in your community ?
Target group:

Members
of different religious traditions;
-
Quebecois and ethnocultural community organizations;
- Anyone interested in
this reflection process.
Participants :
Community
workers, leaders, animators, volunteers from afro-caribbean and
south Asian communities

each community (20 in total)
