THE LANGUAGES OF THE ‘WE’

Perspectives for Community Regeneration

Date:Thursday, May 27th 2010, from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Location: 1644 St. Hubert Street, Montreal (Metro Berri-UQAM)

The four articles presented in the issue 157 of InterCulture attempts to raise people’s awareness of the fact that the meaning of community and community living/action can be understood very differently in Quebec and elsewhere around the world.

To what extent does the individuation of our identity and social cohesion, particularly in the Western World, affects community actions in contemporary Quebec? What can these different conceptions of community and community action offer us in order to respond to contemporary socio-political and ecological issues?
