in a limited way

These sessions are offered generally in week-end format. The contents
are predetermined and participants are called to register individually.
The schedule of these training programs are available upon request.
Teaching and Training in Interculturalism
Program 1. Pluralism and Alternatives (international).
1 a. Alternative philosophy, theories and practices of pluralism
and interculturalism.
1 b. Cultural and intercultural alternatives in the fields of development
(e.g. education, health, agriculture, economy) ; human rights and
justice ; social and environmental movements.
These programs are international in scope. The first program aims,
on the one hand, to inform people about the experiences and practices
of interculturalism in different societies in the world ; and, on
the other hand, to expose participants to alternative visions and
theories of pluralism in order to resist neo-colonialistic “scientific”
theories of interculturalism proposed by the dominant societies
of the North.
The second program is designed to inspire participants to critically
view the contemporary issues of human dwelling and to seek alternatives
by introducing them to the wisdom, knowledge and practices of various
peoples and cultures.
Program 2. Intercultural Training (local)
The goal of these training programs are : to help participants
develop skills to understand people from various cultural backgrounds,
and develop intercultural competencies for working in a multicultural
context. These programs also hope to inspire participants to seek
alternatives for social change.

• Organizational Development and Interculturality.
Program 2 b. Profession-Specific Programs
• Intercultural Intervention : in health care, in psychosocial
social services, in mental health.
• Education and Teaching (School professionals).
• Immigrant Community Work and Ethnic Professionals.
• Cultures and Development.
